Six core services, each adapted to your dog’s breed, coat, age and temperament. Our full groom includes all of them, priced by the size of your dog. Not sure what your dog needs? Ask — we’re happy to advise.
Suitability depends on your dog. What’s appropriate can vary with age, coat condition, health and temperament. We’ll always talk it through first, and if we notice anything that looks like a medical concern we’ll recommend you speak to your vet.
Scissor work is where a groom goes from “clean” to “finished”. We shape the coat by hand, following the lines of your dog’s body and the natural fall of the hair.
Tell us how you like your dog to look — or ask what suits their coat — and we’ll trim to that, keeping face, feet and feathering neat and in proportion.
Longer-coated dogs in particular benefit from a careful tidy of the hygiene areas. It keeps the coat clean, reduces matting and odour, and helps your dog stay comfortable day to day.
We approach this part of the groom calmly and gently, as part of a fuller groom or as a lighter maintenance visit.
Some dogs need help with their anal glands from time to time. Where appropriate, we take care of this as part of a groom, handling it quickly and gently.
If we notice signs that point to something medical — swelling, discomfort or anything unusual — we’ll let you know and recommend you see your vet rather than proceed.
Nails left too long change the way a dog stands and walks, and can split or catch. Regular trimming keeps them at a comfortable length so your dog moves the way they’re meant to.
We work slowly, one paw at a time, and we’re used to dogs who aren’t keen on having their feet handled. Dewclaws are checked too.
A good bath is the foundation of every groom. We wash right down to the skin, rinse thoroughly so no residue is left behind, and dry the coat properly so it’s ready for brushing and trimming.
Different coats need different products, so we choose a shampoo and conditioner to suit your dog’s coat type and adapt if you tell us about any sensitivities. As part of a full groom we also shave the paw pads so your dog has better grip and cleaner feet.
Ears collect wax, dust and loose hair — and floppy-eared or long-coated dogs collect more. A routine clean during the groom helps keep them fresh and comfortable.
We clean the outer ear gently and never force anything into the ear canal. If we see redness, discharge or anything that looks sore, we’ll tell you so you can follow up with your vet.
